“Kendrick Perkins addresses his Moses Moody faux pas during the draft night”: The former Celtics player was heavily trolled for his recent botch-up
Former NBA champion and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins explains why he couldn’t pronounce the Moses Moody during the draft night.
The 14th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Moses Moody, was selected by the Golden State Warriors. The 19-year old played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
As per reports, Warriors forward Draymond Green texted team president Bob Myers to draft Moody. The 6’6″ guard for Arkinsons even mentioned how Green sent him a message saying, “Welcome to the family.”
Both Green and Moddy are Klutch Sports athletes. The Arkansas player also had his interactions with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who were present during one of his draft workouts.
The Splash Brothers were reportedly very impressed with the 19-year old. Moody feels grateful for being a part of the Warriors organization.
“Given how great they are in that environment, I have no choice but to get better. I’m extremely excited. I’m just glad to be part of a winning program,” Moody said.
Perkins, who was covering the draft with ESPN, was caught in the act of mispronouncing Moses Moody’s name and seemed to have forgotten his chain of thought.

The 36-year while appearing on the show The Jump on ESPN, addressed the issue. Big Perk could clearly be heard baffled during the draft night.

Perkins said, “The whole time from the picks 6th to 11th, I am sitting up here and get Moses Moody get Moses Moody and by the time he got drafted I am trying to remember his name, is it Moody Moses or Moses Moody.” said, Big Perk.
However, the former Celtics player gave a shout-out to the 19-year old, calling him a great kid.
Nevertheless, the internet didn’t spare Perkins for his hilarious botch-up.
